How To Install WordPress Plugins From The Dashboard

Installing WordPress plugins from inside your dashboard is probably the easy route to take.

Within a few clicks and no time at all you will be up and running with whatever plugins you need for your site.

What are WordPress plugins anyway?

A plugin is a piece of software that can be added to your WordPress website to either extend an existing function or add a totally new function.

In a nutshell…

If you want your site to achieve a specific task, for example:  Getting on the first page of google….

You would install a plugin that improves your websites search engine optimization (SEO).

Or maybe you plan on setting up an E-Store and need a simple way to make product pages…  There’s a plugin for that too.

Someone has most likely already created a WordPress plugin for just about any website function you can think of.

Installing new WordPress plugins to your site.

There are a few ways to install a plugin to your site but the simplest is by using your dashboard as I demonstrated in the video above.

Nine times out of Ten this will work unless the plugin is too big or your Internet speed is too slow.

If either are the case you can always use the File Transfer Protocol (FTP) method to upload larger plugins.

Then if for whatever reason you are still unable to install your plugin…

Your out of luck!  …just kidding there’s still another way to do it.

If you log into your web hosts C-panel there is an icon called File Manager and you can upload files to your site from there.

I will most likely create a video for the alternate ways to  upload WordPress plugins to your site so stay tuned and keep an eye out for them.

To your success,
